While at the Super iam8bit show, many pieces caught our eye. However, the most iconic piece of hardware was there in 15:1 scale form and caught everyone’s eye. Jason Torchinsky had constructed a gigantic, working model of the Atari 2600 joystick and displayed it at the show. Anyone who’s been there already would have undoubtedly seen and been awed by it. While a relatively unknown game, Cave Story has been making a splash amongst fans of indie games for some time already for its old school roots, which shine through the simple, yet difficult gameplay. Earlier this year, NIS America has announced that the game will be making its 3D debut on the 3DS later this year. Curious about the game and what it will bring to a wider audience, we decided to ask Cave Story 3D producer Jack Niida a couple of Quick Questions. A long running series in Japan, the Earth Defense Force series made its debut in the US with D3Publisher’s Earth Defense Force 2017 on the Xbox 360 in 2007. Recently released with the Nintendo eShop on the Nintendo 3DS, Pokédex 3D is already making a splash amongst Pokémon fans with its expansive database of Pokémon from the Unova region. Players can view all their favorite Pokémon, given that they were lucky enough to have it in their own Pokédex or have a friend who can give it to them, and even take pictures with them! Lots of great things involved in this completely free title and we decided to ask Joel Simon, project market coordinator of Pokédex 3D, a couple of Quick Questions.
Definitely one of the most awaited releases for long time fighting game fans, Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online will feature many improvements such as graphical filters, GGPO netcode, YouTube integration, and a challenge mode that impress players with trails in both parrying skills and combos.
